Estradiol Gel (0.06%) - 80g
Estradiol Gel 0.06% – Transdermal Estrogen Treatment
Estradiol Gel 0.06% is a transdermal preparation containing estradiol, a form of estrogen that is chemically and biologically identical to the main estrogen produced naturally by the human body. It is used under the direction of a healthcare professional for conditions where estrogen replacement or supplementation may be appropriate.
The gel is applied to the skin, allowing estradiol to be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. Transdermal estradiol products are commonly prescribed as part of hormone replacement treatment for symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency.
Product details

The exact amount delivered per application depends on the specific product and dispenser, so always follow the instructions supplied with your product.
Estradiol vs Estriol
Estradiol and estriol are both forms of estrogen, but they are not interchangeable.
Estradiol (17β-estradiol) is the principal naturally occurring estrogen in premenopausal women and has a substantially stronger estrogenic effect than estriol. Estriol is a weaker estrogen and is commonly used in lower-potency/local estrogen preparations.
However, the percentage printed on a product should not be used to directly determine which medicine is “stronger.” A 0.06% estradiol gel and a 0.1% estriol cream have different active ingredients, formulations and absorption characteristics. Estradiol gel applied transdermally is designed to deliver estradiol through the skin and can result in systemic exposure.
For this reason, estradiol gel should not be substituted for an estriol cream simply on the basis of the stated percentage or strength. The appropriate product and dose depend on the individual's medical needs and should be determined by a healthcare professional.
Important information
This is an estrogen-containing medicine and should only be used as directed by a qualified healthcare professional.
Estradiol may not be suitable for everyone. Before using this product, discuss your medical history, existing conditions, current medications and any previous hormone-related treatment with your doctor or pharmacist.
Possible effects of estrogen treatment can include breast tenderness, headache, nausea, changes in bleeding patterns and other hormone-related effects. Seek medical advice if you experience unexpected, severe or concerning symptoms.
For people who have an intact uterus, systemic estrogen therapy may require the addition of a suitable progestogen to help protect the lining of the womb from estrogen-induced overgrowth. This is an important consideration that should be discussed with a healthcare professional.
